Zimbabwe Theatre Academy

Our Brief History

Established in 2017, the Zimbabwe Theatre Academy Trust (ZTAT) has been an important national launch pad for emerging theatre and film makers in Zimbabwe. Dedicated to the developed and professionalization of theater in Zimbabwe, the Academy has provided specialized accessible training programs, community outreaches, performances, festivals and collaborations.

The development of the Zimbabwe Theatre Academy was also inspired by the need to provide a unique alternative outlet for our youth and our community to show what amazing stories and dreams they have, giving equal priority across the gender divide and any other form of marginalization.

Provision of accessible platforms for youths to acquire professional practical skills in theatre.
Stimulate young people’s creativity in using theatre to tell their stories.
